Outstanding technical solution in a radioactive waste processing facility

GD Gép és Daru Ltd. has won an order through a procurement process for installing a 33-ton bridge crane in the processing facility of Bátaapáti. This job was challenging because of the very strict safety standards, also because of the hard conditions of installation.

The hoist equipment for moving hazardous material was developed by taking into consideration all regulations of the relevant standard (EN 14492-2). In order to achieve an increased lifting capacity a double hoist system was used. The safety brake acts directly on the rope drum.

The space above the crane was very limited - 100 mm - and since dangerous materials were already stored in the room, the fitting of this crane with a mass of 16000 kg required a very special installation technology. Because of these special conditions, the traditional way if installationclassical crane lifting method was out of the question, thus GD-made lifting tables were used to raise the crane components.

Since we choosed the right assembly technology, this crane was installed within two days. As a result, our company was able to complete the project before the contracted deadline, giving our customer full satisfaction.
