Suspension crane with rotating jib

For maintenance of railway carriages we developed individual suspension cranes. These cranes are used for installing and dismantling parts on the carriage roof which cannot be moved by hand. The minimisation of installation place required was crucial to the design of the cranes. With regard to a high voltage power line near the crane its control had to be fitted into the computer system controlling the operation of the crane in a way that the crane cannot be worked, not even accidentally, when the power line is a live wire.

The hoisting gear is placed between the two jibs. This design allows the highest hook position possible under the given circumstances. The turning range of ±180° assures that the crane covers the largest possible area.
