GD develops and manufactures special lifting tables for train vehicle repair and maintenance since 2002. Due to the large size of train vehicles it is necessary to elevate and move the maintenance stuff safely around the vehicle. In some cases the heavy and large sized parts unit has to be moved by lifting table under the vehicle. GD offer devices in a wide range for both the above mentioned tasks.
Lifting table for personnel into potentially explosive atmospheres (ATEX).
Lifting table is mobile, can be moved on swivel caster wheels and can be fixed by manually operated stabilizers. Due to the potentially explosive environment no electrical device on the lifting table is installed, thus hydraulic unit is driven by air motor and operation is controlled by pneumatic keyboard.
Platform height can be set between 0,5and 1,9 m. Lifting tables are fabricated acc. to EN 280 standard. In case of customer’s demand the lifting table can be equipped with electrical drive system as well.

Lifting tables exist in pairs and are located at both side of the railway track. The access to all surfaces of the passing train is provided from the lifting table. The platform of the lifting table can be travel between -0.4m to +5.85m measured from the floor. Platforms can be moved by 0.55m to the wagon for a better access to its roof.
Lifting tables are equipped with devices providing increased safety demands acc. to all the criteria of EN 280 standard such as: fall protection, overload protection, emergency lowering operated from both the floor and the platform, interlocked door latches, crash protection). Due to the potentially explosive environment the electric and hydraulic devices of the lifting tables are installed in separated premises. The lifting tables are equipped with ATEX class. control devices and indicator lighting signals only. The frameworks of the tables are protected from falling particles with PVC curtain.

The lifting tables are installed in pairs to both side of the wagons. Parallel moving direction to the wagons is ensured with rail wheels. The travel drive is hydraulic operated and two speeded.
The movement of the lifting table is controlled with buttons of the control panel or with foot switches on the platform. In case using foot switches the personnel can operate the movement of platform simultaneously with painting work.
Both end of the platform can be turned by 90o to provide proper access to the wagon front and rear end.
Due to the potentially explosive environment the electric and hydraulic devices of the lifting tables are installed in separated premises. Energy supply of the lifting table is provided via energy chain installed on the floor. Lifting table is fabricated acc. to EN 280 standard.
The walkway surface of the platform is made of perforated and galvanized anti-slip walkway plate that withstands any contamination. The required pneumatic connection devices for the painting equipment are installed to the platform.

This type of lifting table was developed in order to ensure safe and ergonomic work at both front-ends of rail wagons. It can be moved manually on rail casters and by pulling out these casters on four polyurethane swivel wheels as well.
The lifting table was designed into potentially explosive environment, however it is equipped with the required electrical and pneumatic connections to provide power supply of the tools. Welding machine can also be used on the platform.
Both end of the platform can be turned manually at the lower end position in order to decrease the overall width of the lifting table to width of the rail wagon. Platforms size can be enlarged manually by pulling out extension elements in order to the perfect joint with the wagons.
Lifting table is available both in ATEX type air-motorized and also normal industrial type electrohydraulic versions. Lifting tables types and safety elements are fabricated acc. to EN 280 standard.

The mobile lifting and transferring table was developed to transfer the whole bodywork of the rail wagon when its undercarriage is dismantled. This device is used in pairs and one pair is able to lift rail wagon bodywork with the maximum weight of 30t or 45t and up to the height of 1.9m. The lifting tables in lowered position are able to transfer the wagon bodywork within the plant on standard gauge rail track. Built-in batteries provide continuous operation for an 8hrs shift.
Units of the lifting table pair is moving in sync using radiofrequency data communication independently from the load. The lifting tables are controlled by radiofrequency remote control unit. Lifting table with their services makes all lifting and transferring task of the wagon bodywork possible within the plant.
