Railway repair shops in town need special doors at places where trams can go in and out self-propelled. Trams get their power supply by overhead collectors. The high voltage crab wire must be led through the closed door in a way that the metal structure of the door remains adequately insulated. In open status of the door the collectors must be led.
Another special characteristic of the railway vehicles is their long stopping distance, which demands special guard from the equipments which can get in the vehicle’s way. The controls of the railway doors must operate conform to railway regulations and cooperate with the traffic regulating devices.
Expensive and essential devices are mounted on the sides and the roof of the railway vehicles, therefore the installed sensor system must prevent coincidental closing of the door while the tram is passing.
